Gains after using electronic ballast in
the original system:
1.- Because of high PF, low working current, and still lower starting current, 60% of the transformer capacity and 82% of the power loss in the supplying system may be reduced. That means, the load may be doubled without increasing the capacity and the diameter of the line. 2.- Because of low starting and working currents and the small distortion, the maximum current in the system is cut 80% down, avoiding the impact of large current on the system. More than 60% of the working current is saved, so the factor of safety and reliability increased, and the cost of maintenance and overhaul decreased. 3.- Because of the steady power control techniques adopted so the illumination of lamps near or far from the transformer will keep the same regardless the gradient of potential along the line. To the supplying system, the load being resistance, so the current in the neutral line would benull when power is in equilibrium in three phases. 4.- Well designed, advanced technique, and best material used enable the power loss of ballast reduced 75%, the utility life of lamp increased three folds. 5.- Saving the cost in a new or in an expanded construction. Due to the high PF and the low starting and working currents, it may reduce the capacity of transformer 60% and reduce the cost of material of the line 40%. |
